Add at least two photos to make a GIF.

How to use

  1. Drop or paste 2 to 30 JPG, PNG, or WebP photos.
  2. Use Move earlier and Move later to set the animation order.
  3. Choose the GIF width and how long each photo stays on screen.
  4. Choose whether different photo shapes should show fully or fill the frame.
  5. Download the GIF as soon as the preview is ready.

Choose a speed that matches the photos

A GIF stores a delay for every frame in hundredths of a second. This tool offers 100 ms, 250 ms, 500 ms, and 1 second per photo: 100 ms suits a quick stop-motion sequence, while 500 ms gives people time to read a before-and-after image. Very short delays are not reliable everywhere: Ezgif notes that browsers may ignore delays below 20 centiseconds (200 ms). If you need the same rhythm throughout, keep one delay for every frame; the total running time is the number of photos multiplied by that delay.

Why a photo GIF can look less smooth than the originals

GIF uses indexed colour, with at most 256 colours in a frame, rather than the millions of colours in a JPEG, PNG, or WebP photo. That limit can create banding in skies and gradients, and the file grows quickly as pixel count and frame count rise. Start with 320 or 480 px for chat and document GIFs. This maker keeps a fixed output canvas based on the first photo, so the animation does not jump in size; use Show all for letterboxing or Fill frame when matching edges matter more than showing every pixel.

Frequently asked questions

How many photos can I turn into one GIF?

This GIF maker accepts 2 to 30 JPG, PNG, or WebP photos at a time. Limiting the sequence to 30 frames keeps browser memory and GIF file size practical on phones as well as desktops.

Are photos uploaded to make the GIF?

No. Photo decoding, frame ordering, and GIF encoding run in the current browser tab, so the selected images are not sent to a server.

What frame delay should I use for a GIF?

Use 100 or 250 ms for a fast sequence, 500 ms for most photo pairs, and 1 second for a slideshow. Two photos at 500 ms each produce a GIF that takes 1 second to play once.

Why does my GIF have white space around a photo?

White space appears when Show all fits a photo with a different aspect ratio inside the first frame’s canvas. Choose Fill frame to crop the edges instead and make every frame cover the same rectangle.
