Closest reference sizes
These are general adult reference sizes. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement; the brand, model, width, socks, and intended fit can change the final choice.
How to use
- Choose the country or size system printed on the shoe you know.
- Enter the size to show its closest row in the adult reference chart.
- Compare the Korea mm and Japan cm values with your measured longer foot.
- Choose a brand reminder, then check that product’s official size chart before ordering.
- Copy the complete set of size labels if you need to save or share it.
Use measured foot length as the anchor
Korean shoe labels commonly use millimetres and Japanese labels use centimetres, so they are useful starting points because they refer to a physical length: 260 mm equals 26.0 cm. Measure while standing on paper with your heel against a wall, mark the longest toe, and measure both feet. Use the longer measurement. The result is a general adult reference row, not a promise that every shoe will fit: a last, toe-box shape, width, socks, orthotics, and intended activity can all change the best choice. When a brand chart conflicts with a regional label, use the product’s official chart and its measurement instructions.
Why brand charts can differ from a general conversion
US men’s and women’s labels are separate scales, while EU and UK labels have their own step sizes; converting by simply adding or subtracting a number can therefore hide a rounding difference. Official brand charts also use their own conventions. Nike says the CM figure on a box or label is not the same as measured foot length. adidas publishes heel-to-toe centimetres and EU labels in one-third increments. New Balance publishes width guidance in addition to length. This tool shows a transparent baseline across six common adult labels and puts those brand checks next to the result, so the conversion is useful for comparison without presenting a generic chart as a guaranteed fit.
Frequently asked questions
What is Korean shoe size 260 in US and EU sizes?
In this general adult reference chart, Korean 260 mm maps to Japan 26.0 cm, US men’s 8, US women’s 9.5, UK 7.5, and EU 40.5. A brand or model can use a different last, so confirm against its product chart before buying.
Is Japanese shoe size the same as centimetres?
Japanese shoe labels commonly express a centimetre length, so 26.0 cm corresponds to 260 mm. A shoe-box CM label may use a maker’s internal convention, however, so compare a measured foot with that brand’s published chart rather than relying on the number alone.
Why are US men’s and women’s shoe sizes different?
US men’s and women’s footwear use different numerical labels for a similar length. In this reference chart, US men’s 8 and US women’s 9.5 both align with the 260 mm row; the exact offset can vary by brand and product category.
How should I measure my feet for shoes?
Stand with your heel against a wall on a sheet of paper, mark the tip of the longest toe, and measure from the wall to the mark in millimetres. Measure both feet while standing and use the longer result; then compare it with the product’s official chart.
