How to use

  1. Paste or type Korean text into the input box.
  2. Read the suggested text and the reason for each listed correction.
  3. Apply one suggestion, or choose Apply all after reviewing them.
  4. Copy the suggested text when you are ready to use it.

What this checker can verify

This is a conservative, rule-based checker for specific high-confidence forms: 되요 → 돼요, 몇일 → 며칠, 웬지 → 왠지, a small set of standard loanwords, spaces in forms such as “할 수 있다”, and a space before punctuation. Each match is listed before it is applied. Korean spelling and spacing often depend on meaning and grammatical analysis, so this tool deliberately does not auto-change ambiguous forms such as 바래 or try to restore every missing space in a sentence. Use a context-aware Korean proofreader or an official language resource for formal documents.

Private checking, including drafts

All matching and correction run in the browser. Your text is never uploaded to Betterbit or a third-party checker. To protect work in progress after a refresh, the current input is stored only in this browser’s local storage; choose Clear to remove it from this tool. A local, live rule set is immediate and avoids a character quota, but it is not a replacement for morphological analysis. Review every suggested correction, especially in applications, contracts and other high-stakes writing.

Frequently asked questions

Does this Korean spell checker upload my text?

No. The checks and suggested corrections run entirely in the browser, and your text is not sent to Betterbit or any external spell-checking service. The draft is stored only in this browser’s local storage until you clear it.

Can this tool check every Korean grammar and spacing error?

No. This tool checks a defined set of high-confidence spelling, loanword, punctuation and spacing patterns. Korean grammar and many spacing decisions require sentence context, so ambiguous cases are intentionally left for review instead of being guessed.

What is the difference between 되요 and 돼요?

“돼요” is the standard form because 돼 is contracted from 되어. In polite present-tense writing, “되어요” contracts to “돼요”, not “되요”.

Why does the tool show a suggestion instead of silently changing my text?

Every rule-based correction should be reviewed in its sentence. The tool shows the original, replacement and reason first, and provides both individual Apply and Apply all controls.
