As many files as you like, in any order

Your PDFs are combined on your device. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no file limit.

How to use

  1. Drop in two or more PDFs, or click to choose files from your device.
  2. Drag the rows (or use the ↑/↓ buttons) to put the files in the order you want them merged.
  3. Check the page count next to each file — anything unreadable or password-protected is flagged in red.
  4. Click Download merged PDF — the combined file is assembled on your device in a moment.

How merging works here

Page content, including text, images, embedded fonts and layout, is copied without rasterizing or recompressing it. Files are combined from top to bottom; drag a row or use the ↑/↓ buttons and the result rebuilds automatically. Document-level features such as bookmarks, attachments, digital signatures and interactive form behavior are not combined. There is no fixed file-count or size limit, but available browser memory is the practical limit.

Nothing leaves your device

Adobe Acrobat’s online tools upload files to Adobe cloud storage; iLovePDF and Smallpdf also upload PDFs before merging them, and Smallpdf says it deletes server copies after one hour. This tool reads and combines files entirely in your browser — your documents and the merged result never cross the network, which matters for contracts, IDs, or anything else you would not want on someone else’s server.

What about free-plan limits elsewhere?

Most of the free online mergers cap what you can do without paying: Adobe's free tier stops at 100 files, 500 pages per file, and 1,500 pages total in the merged PDF; iLovePDF's free Basic plan caps merging at 25 files and 100MB per task (unlimited is a paid Premium feature). This tool has no such cap built in — it merges as many files as your browser can hold in memory.

Password-protected PDFs

A PDF that is encrypted with an open or permissions password can't be merged here yet — it will show as "password-protected" in the file list and is skipped from the merge so the rest of your files still combine normally. Remove the password in a PDF reader first (or use this tool's companion once available), then re-add the file.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDF files uploaded anywhere?

No. Reading each file, reordering them, and assembling the merged PDF all happen in your browser. Once the page and its PDF code have loaded, the merge can continue without an internet connection.

How many PDF files can I merge at once?

There is no fixed limit on the number of files or total pages. The practical ceiling is the memory available to your browser, so very large scans are best merged in smaller batches.

Can I change the order the files are merged in?

Yes. Drag any file to a new position in the list, or use the ↑ and ↓ buttons for keyboard or touch control — the merged PDF rebuilds automatically each time you reorder.

Does merging reduce the quality of my PDFs?

Page content is copied without rasterizing or recompressing it, so selectable text and image resolution are preserved. Document-level bookmarks, attachments, digital signatures and interactive form behavior are not combined.

Can I merge a password-protected PDF?

Not yet. A PDF locked with a password is detected and skipped (shown as "password-protected" in the list) so it does not break the rest of the merge; remove its password in a PDF reader first, then add it again.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit is enforced by this tool, unlike Adobe’s free plan (1,500 merged pages) or iLovePDF’s free Basic plan (25 files / 100MB per task). The practical ceiling is your browser’s available memory.
